Our Seasons and When to Book

The most popular time to come to Nantucket is during the high season which traditionally runs from mid-June through Labor Day. If you are planning your vacation then, the earlier you book the greater selection of rentals you will have because THE SUMMER SEASON IS THE MOST POPULAR TIME TO VISIT NANTUCKET.

The off-season is typically May to mid-June then after Labor Day through October. These months are less in demand and therefore easier to book. Some properties will book earlier or later into the off-season, so tell your agent if you are interested in other dates, such as Daffodil weekend (end of April), Thanksgiving, Christmas Stroll (first weekend of December), or Christmas time. NO MATTER WHEN YOU ARE PLANNING YOUR TRIP TO NANTUCKET the earlier you can book the greater selection of rentals you will have.

In the high season properties generally rent usually for A MINIMUM of two weeks. Some properties do offer one week rentals. A few will offer extended weekends stays. Rental changeover days are typically on either Friday or Saturday so check our website for specific availabilities and check-in dates or speak with one of our agents. Our site will tell you what the minimum rental for each house will be.

Payments

The earlier a property is leased the more lease payments there may be. At a maximum there will be three equal payments. The security deposit, usually 10%, is paid along with the last payment and held by the homeowner. The last payment is always made 45 days prior to arrival. One week rentals always require payment in full with the signed lease.

Pets

We encourage you to leave your four-legged family members at home.
Homes that allow pets are few and those homeowners who allow pets
will require an additional security deposit.

Security Deposits

Security deposits are for damages and are not prepaid rent. Damages are not limited to the amount on the security deposit. Security deposits are held by the property owner. They are returned, less long distance telephone charges, any designated utility fees, excessive cleaning charges, and any damage charges etc. no later than 60 days from the date you vacate the property.

Arriving

Please coordinate key and rental packet pick-up with your agent before your arrival. Arrival time for rentals is no earlier than 3:00 pm. Upon arrival you should inspect the property to make sure the house is clean and working condition. If you find anything amiss you must contact us within 24 hours so that corrections can be made.

Departing

Departure time is no later than 9:00 am. Standard process for departure is to leave the property in neat condition, beds stripped, linens put into the wash and started, readying for the next tenant. We realize it is sometimes difficult to do much tidying before your departure and we appreciate all the efforts made to leave the house in prime condition. There will always be a cleaning crew that will turn-over the property. Any excessive cleaning that needs to be done will come out of the security deposit. Cleaning rates run an estimated $35 - $45 per hour.
